Gourd-shaped Lacquer Tea Scoop, Hon-urushi Chami. Japanese made.

Simplicity of design and use of natural materials typify the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. This scoop is covered in red lacquer ware, highlighting the green teas. L. 4" (10.125cm.) Scoops and spoons for portioning Japanese green tea should ideally be thin as to not crush the tea leaves.
