Kirari means \"burst of light\". Teas from this cultivar generally have a good amount of umami (savoriness), and this one has a good balance of amami (sweetness) and shibumi (astringency), with a bit more sweetness on the early infusions and a bit more astringency on the latter infusions. The brew is a light green, and the tea drinks very smoothly. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMiyakonojou is in southwest Miyazaki Prefecture and borders Kagoshima Prefecture. The two prefectures share the Miyakonojou Basin, as well as the Kirishima Mountains and the Ouyodo River. Agriculture and agriculture-related manufacturing are two of the biggest industries, and tea from the area is well-known in the prefecture.
