Mika Sullivan was originally from Kyoto, Japan, but had settled in Everett, Washington; where she made, sold, and taught ceramics at her home studio. She was a regular fixture at monthly pottery sales at Tokara, an authentic Japanese wagashi shop in Seattle, and her pots were mainstays on the tables on many Japanese pottery and food fans in the greater Seattle area. This piece was acquired on a visit to her studio in September of 2013, before she passed away much too early in life in 2016. It has been lovingly stored in inventory by WaSabiDou until being made available for purchase now.
